CUIP Information Session

We are excited to have our first information session with faculty members, researchers, and community stakeholders from the UT System, ORNL, and the City of Chattanooga on October 5th, 2018 (8:30am-3pm) at the Edney Building Floor 5 in downtown Chattanooga (1100 Market St, Chattanooga, TN 37402).

The goal is to engage experts from across the statewide University of Tennessee System in cross-disciplinary research to discuss solutions to urban challenges. The vision for CUIP centers around research initiatives related to energy, mobility, healthcare, public safety, water, waste, and social science that will directly or indirectly benefit citizens. In this information session, we will focus on community partnership and research activities on mobility, water, and energy.

2018 Chattanooga Deep Learning Conference

This conference is focused on how applied deep/machine learning research can impact the advancements of applications related to health care, smart grids and city services. Speakers will share real-world application stories and obstacles to implementation. Panels will look at each field from both the research and industry perspective.

Attendees of the conference can expect:

  • To learn about cutting-edge applied deep learning methods from some of the best in the field (healthcare, smartgrid, connected city)

  • To learn about advanced object detection in computer vision and complex sensor data classification

  • To better understand how data sharing between local universities and commercial entities benefits the entire community

  • Share obstacles (security issues, HIPAA compliance strategies, integration issues) and ideas (best practices, leveraging GPUs, how-to's for integration)
