With the growth of urbanization, the demand on the water supply in cities has grown to monumental proportions—especially in areas of our country and world ravaged by drought. Another major challenge cities face is aging pipe infrastructure, which can lead to serious health risks for citizens and create further pressure on cities to ensure water systems are functioning properly. A variety of technologies can be deployed to effectively address these challenges, including water consumption tracking, leakage detection and control, smart irrigation, and water quality monitoring. Developing solutions to effectively support water conservation and water quality is critical to ensure cities can provide a safe and sufficient water supply for citizens.
